Core Values

  • Four hands joining together, backlit.

    Transparency

With its unique autonomy in budget setting, our school district has a heightened responsibility to maintain public trust. Transparency is a vital ingredient in trust. While board members may not always be able to share everything they know, our governance practices should always prioritize clear communication and project timelines that foster community understanding and engagement.

    Stewardship

I have built my career in the nonprofit sector and have a proven track record of fiscal responsibility, project management, and evaluation. I have experience working on budgets, serving on boards, and bringing grant funds into the district. I understand the roles and responsibilities of an effective board and how to get things done.

    Communication

Listening to what voters are concerned about matters. Accessible meetings and participatory sessions are essential. Times have shifted- many folks cannot attend public meetings or do not feel that public input changes anything. Leaning into the potential of positions like the Communications Director, using technology effectively, and having receptive elected board members can help foster more authentic community involvement.
